Lisa Silver

Lisa Silver is known as a musician, songwriter, studio vocalist, backup singer for television and live performances, voice over artist and producer of children's records. She has been an active member of the Nashville music community for nearly 35 years.

A Detroit native with a father who taught vocal music to Martha Reeves of the Vandellas and Mary Wilson of the Supremes, Lisa moved to Nashville in 1972 after attending the University of Michigan School of Music. Over the years Lisa has performed on thousands of recordings, first as a violinist and fiddle player and later as a background singer. She has earned over fifteen gold and platinum records for her vocal work both on her own and as a member of "The Cherry Sisters" trio.

Lisa is a Grammy nominated songwriter (40 Hour Week by Alabama). Some of her other cuts include One Promise Too Late by Reba McEntire and Maggie's Dream  by Don Williams. A mother of a now 16 year old girl, Olivia, Lisa's interest in children's music and her personal experience with adoption led her to co-write and produce My Forever Family, songs about adopting and being adopted.

Lisa was chosen to write and record Celebrate Together,  the theme for the 1994 National Girl Scout Cookie Campaign. In 1995 Lisa produced and co-wrote Celebration of Country for Music For Little People/Warner Bros. Records. This diverse album for children and families features a collection of country artists including Randy Travis, Brenda Lee, Charlie Daniels, Chet Atkins and Faith Hill. Lisa has also had her children's songs recorded by Kathie Lee Gifford, The Olsen Twins and several others.

Lisa's voice can be heard on the theme she co-wrote for Baby Looney Tunes on the Cartoon Network.
